| ABOUT US |
| The C.P. Curtis Insurance Agency has been a fixture in Bowdoinham since 1945, when it was founded by Cleveland P. Curtis, a dairy farmer. As was the case with many insurance agents of the day, Cleveland continued his "day job" of dairy farming while insuring other farmers in the area. The agency grew and Arthur (Bud) Curtis joined his father in the business in 1965. In 1968 he took over the operation of the agency and his father retired. Cleveland passed away in 1973 and Bud ran the agency out of his home until 1984 when he moved it to downtown Bowdoinham. In 1996 Bud retired and the agency merged with the Robert Small Agency, Inc. of Durham, Maine, which has been in business for over 25 years. The Curtis' had a long and active involvement in the community and the new owner wanted to carry on that tradition as their local neighborhood insurance agent, so the decision was made to retain the "Curtis" name. Our friendly staff at C.P. Curtis Agency still believes that the client appreciates prompt and knowledgeable answers from someone who cares and is approachable. The four members of the C.P. Curtis staff have a total of 68 years of insurance experience and are neighbors to many of the clients: Lois Dyer and Heather Small live in Bowdoinham, Tammy Bard in Lisbon Falls, and Robert Small in Durham. The Curtis Agency presently resides at 18 Main Street, Bowdoinham in the landmark Pythian Knight Lodge building next to the Civil War cannon. Our office hours are 8:30am to 5pm Mon-Fri.
